My Professional Profile

Hi! I am a Registered Dietitian with a drive to help people improve and reach their goals. I have experience in the outpatient setting, commercial kitchen set up, institution menu cycle planning, presenting to older adults as well as youth and adult athletes, and online nutrition coaching. In addition to nutrition, I have been a fitness instructor for 23 years. I have seen people improve blood work and fitness level, decrease weight and clothing sizes, and just begin feeling better by improving their nutrition! I look forward to meeting you and hearing your goals!

I will:

  • Provide healthy, balanced, "real food" nutrition plan

  • Support and provide knowledge

  • Aim for slow maintainable weight loss (1/2 to 2# a week)

Weight loss plans require clients to weigh, track and submit food intake daily. Clients will weigh, measure and take pictures of themselves so we have markers of physical success. Clients will leave daily notes about movement and how they are feeling. Journaling allows me to see how things are going, as well as, allows the client to process the day and see internal wins (non-scale victories).

The ultimate goal is for clients to create healthy habits, fuel their body, lose weight and then maintain the loss.

Before beginning, the client and I will meet virtually to discuss goals and the plan. Clients have unlimited access to me through email and will have a weekly check in to review the progress. The check ins will be via email and depending on the plan will have more virtual meetings.

I am a 54 yo male have been athletic my entire life and never really concerned myself with weight or body composition until recently.  In the past 5 years, I was told I was pre-diabetic with high cholesterol, elevated liver enzymes, and was 30+ pounds heavier than my adult average. 

 

I've always enjoyed weightlifting and outdoor activity, but these were not solving anything.  I tried keto and then tried intermittent fasting.  Each of these resulted in rapid weight loss and then slow gain right back to where I was with no improvement in blood chemistry. Since I began working with Allison, I have lost and kept off over 20 pounds (actually 35 pounds less than my max weight).  In just the first 7 weeks, my blood chemistry improved drastically: my 8-year average A1c of 5.7 dropped to 5.1, my total cholesterol dropped to less than 100, and my liver enzymes are all well within the normal range.
